Questions
Using the tuner
How do I tune my guitar online?
Press Start and allow microphone access. Play one open string at a time and let it ring. The tuner shows the nearest note and how many cents flat or sharp you are; tune until the marker sits in the centre and the readout says in tune.
Can I plug my guitar straight in?
Yes. With an audio interface, plug your guitar into its instrument input and make the interface your computer's input in your sound settings. A direct signal is more accurate than a microphone and ignores room noise.
Does it work with alternate tunings?
It is a chromatic tuner, so it reads any note. Pick Drop D, DADGAD, Open D, Open E or half step down to see the target note for each string.
Is my audio recorded or sent anywhere?
No. The pitch detection runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is recorded, uploaded or stored.
